DAVID SCHULMAN
The music of electric violinist and composer David Schulman has aired nationally on NPR’s Weekend Edition, and has been described as "mysterious and beautiful" by The Washington Post.
A student of the jazz, salsa, and disco violinist Eddie Drennon, David loves to improvise and generate new work with modern dance companies. He has created original scores for choreographers including Christopher K. Morgan, Andrea Olsen, Daniel Burkholder, Stephanie Miracle, Graham Brown, Uprooted Dance, and Dance Exchange, and he has toured and performed at the Kennedy Center with PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER. ROBERT EEN
Robert Een is a singer, cellist and composer writing for the concert stage, dance, theater and film. He is the recipient of an Obie Award for music composition and two New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Awards for music composition and sustained achievement. He tours worldwide and has recorded sixteen albums of genre-bending music. His music is noted for soaring melody, rhythmic vitality as well as heart and humor. With vocals that explore not just western singing but extended techniques and an array of unusual instrumental combinations, Een creates music suggestive of many places and times, and is simultaneously rooted in the 21st century.
