A Curious Invasion/Zollverein was commissioned by the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany to create a site-specific work with PWDT and the Folkwang Tanzstudio company (directed by Rodolpho Leoni), with performances at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zeche Zollverein during the ExtraSchicht Festival in June, 2017. (35 minutes)
Zeche Zollverein is a former coal processing plant turned cultural center in the industrial heart of Germany.
The result was a dance work that transformed the alchemy of the Mischanlage (mixing chamber) into a tuning fork for the future.

Created with PWDT dancers Jonathan Hsu, Tzveta Kassabova, Stephanie Miracle, Candace Scarborough, Connor Voss and FTS members Uwe Brauns, Ying Yun Chen, Maria Giovanna Delle Donne, Shan Gao, Nejma Larichi, Jan Möllmer, Eva Pageix, Simon Wolant, Chih-I Wu, Chih-Ming Yu

Choreography: Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig in collaboration with the dancers

Music: John Lurie, Michael Wall

Costume Design: Sali Treek with Tzveta Kassabova and Connor Voss
